The legendary Irish boyband will headline at the Coca-Cola Arena in City Walk this summer…

Boyband fans are in for a treat this summer, as famed Irish boyband Westlife have just been announced for a summer gig in Dubai.

The four-piece band will take to the soon-to-open Coca-Cola Arena in City Walk on Thursday August 29 as part of their 20th Anniversary tour.

Tickets are on sale now, with early bird tickets priced from Dhs250.

It’s been a while since Westlife took to the stage in Dubai. The band were last here in April 2011, performing in Jebel Ali. The 20th anniversary tour is the first time the band have performed together since their break up in 2012.

Westlife first broke into the harts with their debut single, Swear It Again, and went on to have a string of hits including What Makes A Man, World of Our Own and Flying Without Wings.

Westlife are the third gig to be announced at the arena in City Walk. The Uptown Girl hitmakers will follow famous funnyman Russell Peters, who will be the first star to headline at the Coca Cola Arena on June 6, followed by celebrated pop-rock band, Maroon 5, who will take to the stage for a much-anticipated gig on April 14.

Wondering what will the new Coca-Cola Arena look like? Well, the first images show the sheer size of the super venue, which will have capacity for up to 17,000.

As well as concerts and festivals, conferences and exhibitions, Coca-Cola Arena is expected to host sporting events such as basketball, boxing, volleyball, and ice hockey, thanks to a retractable seating structure that will allow for an array of event formats.

We can’t wait to see who else is announced for a summer gig.
