And it could be here to stay until Thursday…

We may be well into May but it would appear the last of the winter weather hasn’t quite left us yet. Last night, Sunday May 19, Dubai was lashed by some pretty extreme weather, with rain, thunder and lightening lighting up skies across Dubai.

And it doesn’t look like we’ve seen the last of it.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS), there could be more rain on the way today, Monday May 20. The NCMS have forecast a cloudy day in general across the UAE, with a chance of rain clouds forming and further thunder and lightening over scattered areas.

Temperatures are also creeping up, with highs of 40 degrees celsius expected across Dubai and Abu Dhabi today.

Last week, the NCMS reported that the turbulent weather would begin on Saturday May 18, with chances of scattered rain, thunder and lightening expected until Thursday. So, it might not be quite time to wash the car again yet.

But back to last nights weather, and the striking pictures you managed to capture of the extreme weather in Dubai:
