*Cancels Friday plans immediately*

If you grew up on the 1990s or early 2000s in the UK, chances are you went to a roller disco birthday party, that is if you didn’t throw one of your own. And this weekend, you can throw it back to those days as a roller disco is happening at Dubai Bowling Centre in Al Quoz on Friday June 28.

The event is brought to the city by roller group Roll DXB, who roll out (excuse the pun) open-invite skate sessions all over the city, with funky disco music and a lively crowd, so you can expect plenty of sing and dancing as you jive your way around on-wheels.

Entry is priced at Dhs100, which includes entry to the roller disco and rental of your skates. There’s also 25 per cent off food and drinks and a Dhs17 credit towards bowling, if you fancy a game while you’re there.

It’s first come first with limited capacity, so you’ll need to get down early to ensure you can get your skates.

The event will run from 6pm to 11pm, and will also include a rollerskating workshop, run by Australia’s leading skater and founder of @rollerfit, Stacey Short.

Grab your mates for an alternative night that’s full of giggles and good vibes.
