Beautiful new images have been released by the International Space Station (ISS) that show Dubai from space.

The pictures, which were posted to Instagram on the official International Space Station account, were taken from an impressive 410km above the UAE, as the space station orbited.

In the images, several of Dubai’s iconic landmarks are instantly recognisable – including the Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jebel Ali and World Islands.

The post caption read that the images were taken by an Expedition 59 crew member when the International Space Station was above Saudi Arabia, about to cross the Persian Gulf.

So far, the post has garnered more than 200,000 likes on Instagram.

Fancy seeing Dubai from space yourself? Well, from 2020, it could be possible – for a pretty hefty price. Earlier this month, NASA announced that from next year it will open the ISS up to spae tourists from next year, with a one night stay priced from Dhs128,500 (USD35,000) per night, and stays set to last for 30 days. So, for the full trip, you’re looking at millions and millions of dirhams.

Best start saving now, then…
