Tonight The Grid will make its Dubai debut…

The Dubai clubbing scene is thriving right now, with big names coming to town every weekend, it’s hard to keep up. This weekend will see De LA Soul perform live at Barasti, Desiigner will take the stage and Apollonia will spin the decks.

Here are eight parties to check out this weekend.

Thursday: De La Soul at Barasti

After a successful performance by British R&B artist Craig David, two weeks ago, Barasti’s House of Whatever is set to welcome American hip hop trio, De La Soul on Thursday July 4. Fans can expect to hear some of their famous hits including Me Myself and I and Eye Know when the three-piece take to the stage.

Thursday: Desiigner at BOA

You better get practicing your dab because it’s time for Panda star Desiigner to return and get the crowd going wild. Real name, Sidney Royel Selby III, Desiigner was nominated for countless awards for his hit, as well as taking home the Billboard Music Award for Best Rap Star. You can catch him on Thursday July 4.

Thursday: The Grid at Sound Stage

Warehouse rave, The Grid, is coming to Dubai for the first time on Thursday July 4. The first line-up will see resident Dubai DJ Josephine De Retour warm up the crowd from 7.30pm, with English ‘Jedi’ DJ, James Zabiela; German techno duo, Teenage Mutants, Swedish ‘Circle of Live’ artist, Sebastian Mullaert and founder of The Grid, MadLou all on the bill. The event is strictly over 21s, and although early bird tickets have already sold out, you can still get regular tickets online from Dhs150, or Dhs200 on the door.

Thursday: Rodriguez Jr at The Hatch

Fans of DJ Rodriguez Jr will be in for a treat on Thursday July 4, as he performs a live set for The Hatch’s house and techno night Plus Minus. Due to limited capacity, tickets for The Hatch must be pre-booked on their website. Entrance is priced at Dhs100 and ladies can enter for free to enter before 11pm.

Thursday: George Privatti at The Penthouse

Skyline Thursdays is back at The Penthouse and this week is the turn of George Privatti to headline for the party people. The DJ, who has performed at Elrow in Dubai, delivers an uncompromised, groovy, cheerful, animated and very danceable sound during his sets.

Friday: Apollonia at The Code

The Code is the new club residing in Soho Garden, and this week Parisian trio Apollonia are taking the stage. Expect a back to back style set, with each DJ taking it in turns to play one record each for hours on end. It promises to be a very immersive experience.

Friday: Colle and Lost Desert at Playa Nomade

This Friday, Playa Nomade will welcome DJs Colle and Lost Desert to perform at their air conditioned beachfront venue. Fans of house and dance music will enjoy the musical offering that the two acts have in store.
