Emirates is introducing measures to ensure stress-free travel for its customers…

More than half a million passengers are expected to arrive into Dubai International Airport (DXB) over the next two weeks, according to Dubai-based airline, Emirates.

The 500,000 passenger arrivals excludes those in transit, the airline said.

Between August 20 and the start of September, Emirates predicts a busy travel period at DXB as residents return home from Eid breaks and summer holidays ready for the new season and school year.

During this busy period, Emirates is reminding passengers of a number of its services and initiatives that will help to ensure stress free travel, eliminate potential bottlenecks and cut wait-time for passengers to make it from the gate to leaving the airport.

With close to 500,000 bags to process, Emirates will deploy extra resources to ensure there’s no excessive wait time for luggage, and TV screens on planes will display the baggage carousel for each flight prior to landing, so customers know exactly where to go once they’re through immigration.

Emirates also offers a home delivery service, which can be pre-booked, so you won’t have to wait for your luggage. Instead, luggage is retrieved, cleared at customs and delivered to your door.

Passengers can also enjoy a reduced wait at immigration by using the smart gates, where only an Emirates ID or passport is required to clear immigration.

Don’t forget if you’ve got an upcoming flight with Emirates, that baggage allowances have been reduced for certain types of tickets. As of February 4, 2019 the maximum weight for checked bags on Special tickets is 15kg, and anyone traveling on Saver tickets can now take 25kg of checked luggage, rather than 30kg.

Flex and Flex Plus ticket baggage allowances remains the same, at 30kg and 35kg respectively. Hand luggage has also remained the same at 7kg, as have the allowances for Business and First Class passengers..
