Dine at the hands of a celebrity chef, head to the Dubai Fountain with your ‘Friends’ or glam up for a new night…

It’s the final week of September and we’re here to make sure you make the most of it. Whether you’re indulging in a sweet treat, dining at the hands of a celebrity chef or finding your zen with underwater yoga, the city is filled with fun things to do this week.

Here’s 8 things to do in Dubai this week.

Sunday September 22

1. Head down to the Dubai Fountain with your Friends

Friends fans need to get themselves to The Dubai Fountain tonight as the tune, originally by The Rembrandts, will be played at The Dubai Fountain in celebration of the show’s 25th anniversary. Alongside the choreographed fountain show will also be a themed LED show displayed on Burj Khalifa. The one-off show is only taking place on Sunday September 22 so make sure you’re there at either 8.30pm or 9.30pm to catch it.

3. Enjoy a date night in DIFC

If you’re looking for fancy Italian fare, it doesn’t come much finer than Cipriani. The Italian export in Gate Village is a top option for a DIFC date night, thanks to its charming interiors of plush navy, dark woods and white tablecloths, and equally charming staff. While you’ll find some delicious dishes on the menu (their ice-cream is arguably the best in the city), no visit would be complete without trying one of the signature Bellini’s, a mixed-drink invented by Giuseppe Cipriani in 1930s Venice.

Cipriani, Gate Village Building 10, DIFC, Dubai, daily 12pm to 2am (kitchen closes 12am). Tel: (04) 347 0003. cipriani.com

To celebrate Saudi National Day, dining destination The Pointe will be putting on a dazzling fireworks display this Monday at 8.30pm. There’ll be dining discounts too, with 25 per cent off restaurants including Seafood Kitchen, Hook & Cook, Asian District, Palapa, Acapella and Piazza Pizza.

Taking place at 8am on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays, classes are priced at Dhs130 and include an hour-long class, yoga mat and water. The Hatha yoga class aims to rejuvenate the body and soul, with the added bonus of being surrounded by 65,000 marine animals. D
