Coffee, bicycles and conceptual dance in Dubai’s creative neighbourhood…

The cooler months are being welcomed with a party atmosphere down at Alserkal Avenue this month. Taking place on Monday September 30, there’ll be extended opening times for all the galleries plus dance performances, fitness activations and film screenings, which are all free of charge.

So, what’s happening?

The highlight of the evening will be WRECK – List of Extinct Species an evocative interdisciplinary performance that combines movement, sound, and visual art. Directed by Pietro Marullo of the Insiemi Irreali dance company, WRECK features a specially- commissioned large-scale soft sculpture that moves across the stage like a hunter. The sculpture is an allegory for legendary sea monsters, capitalism, and the human condition.

Plus, a new unisex beauty salon will offer a range of grooming services, Shimis Yoga will be offering special classes, and those interested in fair trade and upcycled items can visit Kave, a café concept store opened by the sisters behind Charicyles.
