The main goal is to transform Dubai into one of the most active city in the world…

Today marks the one month countdown to the much awaited Dubai Fitness Challenge – a fitness initiative launched by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai in 2017.

In case you’re new to Dubai or unfamiliar with the concept, the Dubai Fitness Challenge is a movement to help encourages residents to commit to at least 30 minutes of exercise every day, for 30 days.

Now in its third year, the Dubai Fitness Challenge 2019 will run from Friday, October 18, 2019 to Saturday, November 16, 2019.

The movement is for all ages, abilities, interests and fitness levels, and the initiative last year saw a striking 34 per cent increase in participation from the 2017 launch, surpassing one million registered entrants.

This year, Dubai Fitness Challenge hopes to break that one million record.

In order to do this, the Dubai Fitness Challenge and its partners have made fitness easy and accessible to all offering a wide range of events and activities across two dedicated fitness villages, community-centric fitness hubs, free facilities and sport zones.

How to prepare

Download the “Dubai Fitness” app – available on both Apple and Android smart phones, and it’s free to download.

Create and complete your profile where in you will be asked to fill in your personal details along with your height and weight, and then you’ll be able to log all of your workouts.

Before you begin your workout, you will be able to choose your activity from a list that includes everything from boxing, canoeing, fencing, HIIT, skating, parkour and much more. After 30 minutes (or more), hit finish, and your activity for the day is complete, and then saved in the summary you can view at a later date.

The Dubai Fitness app will also help discover new routines by helping you find classes and events around the area you are in. There are set to be more than 4000 to choose from – so you  have no excuses.

To help keep you inspired – you will be able to connect with friends to help motivate them or stay motivated.

We will let you know when we have more details on the full line-up for Dubai Fitness Challenge and the kick-off event, but for now, warm those muscles by downloading the app.
