Tickets go on sale Sunday, September 8, with ticket prices for each of the gigs still to be confirmed.

Here are the details of the upcoming shows:

Omar Kamal

When: Sunday, December 15, 2019

We’ll be honest with you, when we checked out Omar Kamal on YouTube we weren’t expecting to be blown away by his captivating jazz voice. However that’s exactly what the dashing Palestinian singer/composer from the city of Nablus managed to do. Due to his rich multi-cultural influence, the singer has gained a rich taste in music ranging from Frank Sinatra and Michael Jackson as well as Arab idols like Mohammed Abdel Wahab and Fairouz. Expect to be transported back to the 1920s during the Jazz Age when Omar Kamal hits the stage this December.

Broken Wings

When: Friday and Saturday, 17 and 18 January, 2020
Broken Wings is a tragic love story written by Khalil Gibran and first published in Arabic in 1912. It is based on the love story of a couple who unfortunately can’t be together, because the young Selma Karamy is already betrothed to someone else. Trying to meet in secret unfortunately lands young Selma under house arrest – breaking both their hopes and hearts. The moving musical adaptation coming to Dubai Opera in January 2020 will highlight key issues faced at the time.

It features a score filled with incredible melodies, and some of the most difficult arias in the soprano repertoire. Sound familiar? La Traviata is also, most famously, the opera that Richard Gere takes Julia Roberts to see in Pretty Woman.
