1. Try out a brand new restaurant 

Big fan of Mexican cuisine? Enter Meshico, the brand new restaurant at The Pointe on Palm Jumeirah. The little brother of Puerto 99 on Bluewaters Island is lively and vibrant, with live entertainment, a huge cocktail selection and even the chance to help cook your own meal. Their dishes feature all your favourite Mexican classics like tacos and enchiladas with a sophisticated twist, along with a raw bar featuring things like spicy tuna tostadas and desserts that will definitely need to feature on the ‘Gram.

2. Shop till you drop at Dubai’s first Urban Outfitters

Urban Outfitters is finally opening up its first UAE store in The Dubai Mall. On your marks, style queens, it launches at 5pm on Thursday September 5 with an event open to the public, where they will reveal their first collection to drop in the Middle East. 3. Check out Dubai’s newest garden centre

The UAEs much-loved Dubai Garden Centre as just opened a brand new boutique branch in Jumeirah. Located next to Mercato Mall, it’s quite different to its counterpart on Sheikh Zayed Road, with a pretty villa-style setting and activities to make your visit an experience, rather than a pit-stop, grab and go. The gardeners paradise has a vast range of plants, flowers and shrubbery, for inside and outside living, as well as loads of outdoor furniture for you to revamp your living spaces.

4. Cool off at a beautiful beach club for less

Super-luxe Dubai beach club DRIFT Beach Dubai closed for a short summer hiatus, but is now back open again. Aside from their bi-weekly ladies’ day on Monday and Tuesday when entry, a fruit platter and welcome cocktail are Dhs100, entry prices will be a flat rate of Dhs200 until the end of September for everyone, so grab your girls and guys and don your best swimwear for those seriously envy-inducing Instagram shots.

5. Kayak around the Louvre at night

If you’re into stunning architecture, innovative art and design (and, to be honest, even if you’re not) the iconic Louvre Abu Dhabi is a must-see. And now there’s a whole new way to see it, with the launch of night kayaking experiences in the waters around the Louvre. Not your average kayak tour, you’ll navigate on the Arabian Seas before heading towards the cultural ‘mini-city’ for a closer look. The kayaking tour requires no prior experience, and you will be accompanied by a professional instructor as you navigate both inside and outside of the spectacular structure.

6. Head to a chic new ladies’ night

Following the success of Secret Parties’ garden brunch at Flair No5 (currently on hold for summer), high-end party brunch at Emerald Palace Kempinski and sellout ladies’ day at FIVE Palm Jumeirah, they’ve done it again with their new ladies night, which takes place on the 122nd floor of the Burj Khalifa, at the super-fancy Atmosphere Lounge. That’s not all either. Seven hours’ unlimited drinks are up for grabs. It’s Dhs200 for ladies’ unlimited drinks from 9pm to 12am at Atmosphere, and you can then carry on the party with free unlimited drinks at the hotel’s Armani Prive club until 4am.

7. Check in for a staycation at a brand new hotel

The brand new Five Jumeirah Village hotel is now open in JVC. It’s the much awaited sister hotel of FIVE The Palm, but it’s definitely not stood in its shadow by any means, with a cool eclectic design, no less than 269 pools and jacuzzi’s and a chic penthouse party vibe. To celebrate their opening, they’re offering a stellar staycay deal that you need to take advantage of. Valid until October 31 and based on a two night stay, it’s priced at Dhs650 per night (or Dhs325 per person) and includes a one-night stay, half board meals, Dhs200 credit to spend at the pool bar and two facials. 8. Burn some serious energy off at Sky Zone

This brand-new activity park at Ibn Battuta Mall has everything you could need to blow off steam without being outdoors. With a Wipe Out zone, warrior courses, zip line, climbing wall, dodgeball court, trampoline park, toddler zone and giant warped walls, this 35,000 square foot centre is the place to be this summer.

9. Learn to ski or perfect your technique at a new dry slope

Booked that ski holiday but just missing one vital ingredient – knowing how to ski? Infinite Ski is the first of its kind dry-ski slope in the UAE, based in Al Quoz. You’ll ski or snowboard on a revolving belt, which simulates a real ski slope and you can adjust the gradient as you go. It’s perfect for those learning the ropes or for perfecting your existing snow skills.

10. Check out a new gym

XFit is the latest gym to join Dubai’s ever-growing list. The 3-in-1 studio recently opened in Town Centre and gives members a choice of ten specialist classes over three zones: LIFT, BOX and HIIT. Classes include X60, BOXX, Smash and Lift, which aim to improve cardio and agility to ensure you get fit, fast and lean. One-off classes are Dhs80, while a monthly membership is priced at Dhs699.

11. Feast at a new brunch

If you haven’t been to this Portuguese eatery yet, trust us when we say the terrace is stunning. A calm infinity pool casually sits in-front of an endless sea view, but if you can’t handle the heat the inside is equally as beautiful, with views of Downtown Dubai from the other side. Inventive dishes appear at a perfect pace, starting with fun canapes, followed by hot appetizers and then mains served with generous sides and finally a dessert. It’s intimate yet lively, and a great option for a fun afternoon out.

12. Check out a brand new Thursday evening brunch

Move over Friday brunches, Thursday evening brunches are the new thing – and there’s a new one to check out at Great British Restaurant, Dukes The Palm. Starting at 6.30pm, you can take advantage of free-flowing drinks and an international buffet until 10pm. There’ll also be live entertainment from singer and pianist duo Laura and Tamac who will cover everything from house to chart music. The soft package is available for Dhs298, house drinks are Dhs350 or you can upgrade to the sparkling package for Dhs420.

13. Chill out at a relaxed ladies’ day

While Nikki Beach’s beach club pumps up the party again with their Tuesday ladies’ day, Nikki Beach Resort & Spa will be continuing their ladies’ day at their hotel pool and beach, every Monday this September. 14. Breakfast in style with this new Saturday breakfast brunch

Family-friendly Mina’s Kitchen at The Westin has just undergone a makeover and have launched a new Long Breakfast, which is effectively a Saturday breakfast brunch. 15. Take a ferry between Dubai and Sharjah

If you commute between Dubai and Sharjah but dread the heavy traffic, there’s now a new way to journey between the two emirates. A ferry service has just launched between the two emirates, and will run 42 times per day from Al Ghubaiba Marine Station in Dubai to Aquarium Marine Station in Sharjah, and back. The journey will take roughly 35 minutes, and runs every 30 minutes during peak hours between 5am and 9am and 4pm to 8.30pm, and every 90 minutes during off-peak times in between.
