Rambo: Last Blood

In every other film before this, Rambo never goes home – he either goes out to the jungle or Afghanistan. However, in Rambo: Last Blood, he does go home… but he never really arrives. He’s there but he’s not really. So, when his neighbor’s daughter gets kidnapped, he, of course, follows suit, all the way to the US-Mexico border, where he encounters one of Mexico’s most ruthless cartels.  What follows is a deadly journey of vengeance as Rambo confronts his past and unearths his ruthless combat skills in the last chapter of this legendary series.

Ad Astra

30 years ago, Roy McBride’s father headed on a one-way mission to Neptune to find signs of extra-terrestrial intelligence. The mission supposedly failed. As Roy grew up he decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and dedicate his life to the exploration of space. He decides to undertake a mission across the unforgiving solar system to uncover the truth about his missing father and his doomed expedition that now, 30 years later, threatens the universe.

Downton Abbey

The British historical period drama film is based on the TV of the same name and it features much of the original cast members too. The movie is set in 1927 and follows the story of  The Earl of Grantham and his family, who own Downton Abbey, and the build up to their impending visit from King George V and Queen Mary from Buckingham Palace. Expect scandal, romance and much more as the beloved Crawleys and their intrepid staff prepare for the most important moment of their lives.

 Prassthanam

Prassthanam means journey, and not the kind that requires a ticket. The movie follows the story of Baldev Saahu – a great political leader and his son, Vivaan and step-son, Ayush. Saahu seems to have more faith in Ayush who wishes to shine in the political world, which aggravates Vivaan, who wishes to do the exact opposite. The lust for power leads to a complicated web of relationships, where blood, love, dharma and loyalties clash. As relationships are torn apart and blood fights blood, each one is left to figure their own journey.

The Zoya Factor

Here’s one cricket fans shouldn’t miss. How many times has India hit a six when someone casually strolled out of the room, only to have you ban him for re-entering? That’s the Zoya Factor for you. In this romantic comedy, Zoya is an advertising agent who finds herself on an important project involving the Indian cricket team. However, Zoya hates cricket but she finds herself falling for the captain of the Indian cricket team. She later reveals that her dad thought she brought luck to the team because she was born on the day they won a match. Upon discovering this, the team (And the whole of India) start to revere Zoya, almost to the point of worshipping her as a goddess.

Tamil

Kaappaan

Kaappaan, for the non-Tamil speaking folk, means Guardian. The movie follows the story of India’s Prime Minister, and his guardian – Suriya, a member of the Special Protection Group, one of the country’s top security forces. In the world of politics, where competition for supremacy is prevalent, the lives of not only the visionaries and leaders are under threat, but their loved ones as well. Who can they trust when everyone is a threat? Who is their ally and who is their enemy?

Starring: Mohanlal, Suriya, Arya
Genre: Action (PG15)
