It’s the most important meal of the day – which is why deciding where to have breakfast is one of life’s most difficult decisions.

But if you’re looking for a breakfast with a twist, why not check out new Turkish spot on the block, Huqqa?

The restaurant, which opened earlier this year, has already firmly positioned itself as one of Dubai’s best Turkish restaurants. From the incredibly authentic menu to the fantastic views of the Dubai Fountain from the wrap-around terrace serving shisha all-day, a meal at Huqqa is one of the city’s most unique. And now, Huqqa has launched several brand new additions to its breakfast menu, introducing a variety of traditional Turkish pastries, bread, cheeses, sujuk and egg dishes.

Highlights on the newly-launched breakfast menu includes cig börek (Dh33), a crispy Turkish cheese and meat filled pastry, which we have on good authority is an essential breakfast dish inside any Turkish household. Then there’s a luxurious truffle scramble egg dish cradled inside the ring of a simit bread (Dh44), and an Aegean bruschetta (Dh43) made with fresh avocado tomatoes, and a unique Cyprus kofta sandwich (Dh37).

But if you’re after the ultimate breakfast of champions, check out Huqqa’s Big Breakfast. The serpeme kahvalti (Dhs184) fixed menu is an enormous spread that serves two people and includes Turkish breads and pastries, two plates of eggs, pan fried sujuk sausages, a cheese platter, fresh Turkish cream, black and green olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, a fresh fruit platter and Nutella. Phew! Come hungry. And bring a friend.

If you don’t fancy Turkish cuisine, there’s a handful of new international dishes, too, including acai bowls (Dh68), chia pudding (Dh64) and signature egg dishes such as steak Benedict (Dh49) and avocado Benedict (Dh44).

And of course, a Turkish breakfast wouldn’t be complete without tea, and Huqqa imports their tea from the Turkish city of Rize, an area known as the jewel of the black sea, serving it free-flow to all breakfast diners.

Fashion Avenue, Dubai Mall, New extension, third level, breakfast is served from 10am to 1pm (weekdays) and 10am to 3pm (weekends). Tel: (04) 5668557. facebook.com/huqqadubai
