From a sleek business lunch to a tasty waterfront Chinese restaurant…

Looking to mix up your dining experiences this week? Whether it’s a sleek business lunch or a new menu at the waterfront of Madinat Jumeirah, here are three new menus in Dubai to check out this week.

The business lunch: Avli by Tashas

Inspired by owner Natasha Sideris’ Greek heritage, combined with her passion for modern Athenian culture, Avli is the most recent opening from the acclaimed restauranteur. At her DIFC outpost Avli by Tashas in DIFC, guests can now enjoy a weekday business lunch, priced at Dhs130 per person. Included, you’ll choose two starters from a selection that includes Greek salad, a crispy cauliflower flatbread and fresh fried calamari. Each guest is then invited to select a main with signatures like the chicken gyro and Greek fries and seabass with samphire and herb gremolata on offer, and wash it down with a hot beverage.

Avli by tashas, Ground Floor, Gate Village Building 9, DIFC, Dubai, 12pm to 4pm, Sunday to Thursday, Dhs130. Tel: (04) 359 0008. avlibytashas.com

The new menu: Zheng He’s

Zheng He’s decor may have only been slightly updated, but its menu of Chinese dishes has had an impressive overhaul thanks to the input of new head chef Lai Min Wei, who has nine years experience with the acclaimed Hakkasan brand. On his new menu you’ll still find signature dishes – think sweet and sour chicken and salt and pepper squid – prepared using the age-old techniques that make it one of the world’s most popular cuisines. But, you’ll also find some more creative and innovative options such as spicy prawn with lemongrass chili sauce and melt-in-your-mouth braised black angus beef rib with Sichuan pepper sauce. A highlight is still the Peking Duck; tender cuts of crispy skin duck, punchy hoisin sauce and thin slithers of cucumber and spring onion all rolled into piping hot pancakes.

Zheng He’s, Jumeirah Mina A’Salam, Jumeirah, 12pm to 3pm and 6pm to 11pm daily. Tel: (04) 432 3232. jumeirah.com

The new menu: Coco on 8

Promising a heavy focus on healthy, locally-sourced dishes, Media City’s Miami-inspired pool lounge Coco on 8 has launched a brand new menu. Featuring dishes from poke bowls to sushi platters and fresh salads, there’s something for everyone whether you’re heading down for laid-back lunch or snacks to enjoy alongside a post-work drink. They’ve also kept some of their more indulgent treats on the menu, and you can still opt for the beef Wagyu sliders and confit duck hirata buns.

Coco on 8, Media One Hotel, Dubai Media City, 12pm to 1am daily. Tel: (04) 427 1000. mediaonehotel.com
