Whether you eat, sleep and breathe triathlons, or just fancy setting yourself a new exercise challenge, you better get training because a seriously tough one is launching Hatta on Friday November 1.

UAE sport store, Grit+Tonic, have set up the triathlon as part of this year’s Dubai Fitness Challenge. As with any triathlon, fitness buffs will be expected to run, bike and swim during the gruelling race.

If you fancy giving it a go, participation fees start from Dhs200. You’ll need to register by Wednesday, October 30 via PremierOnline to ensure your place.

The race will start at 7.30am with registration required before 7am, so make sure you’re up bright and early.

All manners of terrain await you, from swimming in Hatta Dam and Wadi to running and biking through Hatta’s picturesque, palm tree-lined villages and tackling some seriously steep inclines through the rocky mountains.

There are categories for all ages and abilities, including super sprints, sprints and olympic for individual participants. There’s also team categories of relay super sprint, sprint and olympic if you’ve got a competitive group of mates.

Taking part will get you a certificate, a medal, refreshments and a Grit+Tonic t-shirt. Oh and a big ol’ bucket of self achievement.

2019 marks the third year of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, which will run from Friday October 18 to Friday November 15 throughout Dubai. There’ll be 40 events and over 5,000 fitness classes and activities going on throughout Dubai during the month-long event.

The Dubai Fitness Challenge aims to encourage people of any age, ability or fitness level to take part in 30 minutes’ exercise on each of the 30 days.
