The nine storey extension features more shopping, dining and leisure facilities…

The biggest mall in the world just got even bigger. The Dubai Mall has added a new nine-storey extension to its 5.9 million square foot mega-mall, called Zabeel. You’ll find it adjacent to the main mall, close to Al Khail Road, accessed via a two minute walk through a 200-metre footbridge.

According to The Dubai Mall, Zabeel offers 140,000 square feet of new lifestyle experiences, new dining options and new retail stores as well as 3,000 more parking spaces, and ‘easy access points from Al Khail Road as well as an alternative route leading from Sheikh Zayed Road onto Financial Centre Road’.

So far, only the organic supermarket Grandiose has opened its doors, offering eco-friendly and healthy food items to shoppers in the area. The remaining retail outlets are yet to be revealed although the space is described as having a ‘light and modern industrial design’ ,which could offer clues as to the type of shops you can expect.

One exciting new attraction, also due to open this week, is EKart Zabeel, an adrenaline-pumping electric karting experience located in the new expansion. EKart Zabeel will offer ‘a challenging course with the latest generation of electric go-karts’.

The Dubai Mall will also host popular Dubai gym Train SF in its new expansion, set to open soon. Details on the remaining shopping outlets and food and beverage options are being kept tightly under wraps, but we expect to see more details on these being announced soon.
