The weather outside is frightful, but a delicious cup of hot chocolate tastes so delightful…

If you hadn’t already noticed when looking out of your window (or all over everyone’s Insta stories), it’s raining in Dubai. And, there’s rain and showers expected to continue until at least Friday.

This weather makes us want to get all cosy, and even though it might still be around 20 degrees, we’re still inclined to warm our cockles with an indulgent hot chocolate.

Angelina

Angelina’s decadent hot chocolate has earned itself high regard with Dubai residents. Named L’Africain, the consistency is like molten chocolate, and whilst it is rich, the dollop of fresh cream on top balances it out nicely.

This steaming mug of hot chocolate comes with chocolate chunks melting away at the bottom and even a chocolate bar stirrer. Oh and it’s topped with fluffy whipped cream, too. Bliss.

Avalanche Cafe

For those who have ever been skiing, you’ll know there’s nothing quite like the feeling or taste of a belly-warming hot chocolate, fresh off the mountain. As close as you’ll get to that feeling in Dubai is at Avalanche Cafe, which overlooks the ski slope at Ski Dubai. They keep it simple with marshmallows, cream and chocolate bits.

This chocolatier originated in Paris and has been loved for generations. It’s now loved by the people of the UAE too, and the ‘Le Chocolate Chaud’ is the sort of simple, frothy hot chocolate that just lets the chocolatey goodness do the talking.
