Dubai Food Fest: 2015

If you’re a fan of the hit TV series The Great British Bake Off, a new Dubai festival celebrating all things flour power might be right up your street.

The Dubai Bake Festival, the first event of its kind ever to launch in the region, is a two-day event dedicated to the pursuit of pastries, breads, cakes, cookies and more.

Organised by Renno Communications Group and set to be hosted at the Green Park in Dubai Investment Park from November 20 to 21, the festival will feature dozens of stalls ranging from large brands and local markets, to the kind of cool, niche bakers that usually sell their products on Instagram.

It also promises to be a great opportunity to pick up hard-to-find artisanal ingredients, as well as top notch baking equipment.

Expect plenty of entertainment in the form of expert-led workshops and baking competitions, as well as a children’s play area. You’ll want to arrive hungry too, as there’ll be lots of opportunities to sample the tasty treats on offer. Best of all, admission is free.

Passionate foodies will also be happy to hear that earlier this week the Dubai Food Festival confirmed that it will be returning in 2016, from February 25 to March 12. Highlights at last year’s festivities included the Beach Canteen at Kite Beach, which included big names like ClawBBQ, Moti Roti and Chez Sushi as well as entertainment from local bands.

Food trucks also popped up across the city spicing up people’s lunch breaks with their freshly prepared international dishes.
