The fire broke out while the theme park was closed for the season.

Popular Dubai theme park Global Village has been hit by its second fire in six months.

The fire broke out at the Chinese Pavilion on Monday morning, with thick black smoke seen rising from the structure.

Dubai Media Office said in a tweet firefighters were working to extinguish the blaze. No injuries were reported.

It tweeted again to say that cooling operations were underway:

Global Village said in a statement on Twitter the fire occurred during the pavilion’s “demolition process” following the end of season 22 in April:

The park is currently closed for the summer months. The 2018/2019 season won’t begin until November.

In December, a fire broke out at the Yemen Pavilion, causing two of the adjacent pavilions to be evacuated.
