The vegan lifestyle is becoming easier in Dubai, with more and more restaurants catering to all dietary requirements. Whether you’re follow a vegan diet or not, the dishes being created in response to demand can be even more tasty than their carnivorous alternatives.

Here are seven new vegan menus you might not have tried yet…

Address Downtown

In celebration of World Health Day, The Restaurant at Address Downtown has created a vegan menu which will be available only on Sunday April 7. The raw-food set menu will be available for the whole day, and features fine-dining style dishes such as baked yams with spiced tofu or sweet & sour bok choy with miso noodles. To make the day extra-healthy, Address Downtown are also offering complimentary access to their fitness centre for anyone who selects the Dhs110 menu.

Bagatelle

Bistro Bagatelle has launched an exciting new menu, proving once and for all that vegan food doesn’t have to be boring. The menu includes salads and pizzas as well as hearty mains such as plats principaux, poule des bois roti and le potager. Desserts have also been added to the list, featuring the tarte Bagatelle which fuses bitter chocolate, coconut sorbet and mango purée.

Jelly Belly Ice Cream

Ice cream parlour Jelly Belly has added a new flavour to its 50-strong collection and its 100 per cent vegan. The chocolate coconut flavour has been created with coconut milk and vegan Belgian dark chocolate to create a bittersweet taste that everyone should try. Those following a vegan diet can also enjoy 12 dairy-free Jelly Belly sorbets.

BiCE

On March 27 and 28, Chef Paolo Gramaglia will host a special one-off vegan dinner at BiCE Ristorante, Hilton Dubai Jumeirah. Gramaglia will be visiting Dubai for only a few days to offer his vegan Italian set menu. The Dhs250 menu features asparagus, tofu and popcorn to start, paccheri pasta with bronzed tomatoes for main and vegan tiramusu for dessert.

Mango Tree

Thai bistro, Mango Tree, has a dedicated vegetarian and vegan menu available in its JBR venue. It includes tasty options such as spicy okra salad, som tam corn and satay tofu curry. The restaurant recently extended its weekend opening hours, ensuring guests can join for lunch as well as dinner.

Taqado

Taqado’s new Lean Mean Bean menu features three new vegan dishes and information on ingredients and calories for each dish. New items include vegan earth salad, green vegan burrito and vegan quesadilla. There’s also a new refreshing ‘no guilt lemonade’.

Rove

Rove has a monthly ‘vrunch’ which includes 100 per cent plant-based dishes. You can begin by tucking into the salad buffet, followed by a course of Wellington nut roast with rosemary baked potato and roasted root vegetables topped with mushroom gravy. To finish there’s a choice of blackberry and apple tart or orange & almond cake.
