The gastronomic British invasion continues with confirmation of another superstar chef set to open a restaurant in Dubai.

The man himself, Tom Aikens, the youngest chef in Britain to have been awarded a second Michelin star recently retweeted confirmation that he is set to open his new restaurant, ‘Pots, Pans and Boards’ in Dubai on September 9.

What’s On reported on the opening earlier in May when his social media page was flooded with renderings of a new restaurant in Dubai. Now we can confirm that Pots, Pans and Boards will be located down at The Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residences, one of Dubai’s most up and coming foodie locations.

‘I’ve been working on Pots, Pans and Boards for probably a year and a half now,’ says Tom after speaking with UK website thestaffcanteen.com. ‘It’s very much a family restaurant and we plan to offer very casual, relaxed dining’.

The Londoner, who cut his teeth under the watchful eye of David Cavalier, Pierre Koffman, Philip Britten and Joel Robuchon, has described the new menu to be a combination of English, French and Mediterranean dishes, with shared starters, all-day breakfasts, soups, salads and more. There will be seating both inside and out, so diners can either hide themselves from the heat, or carry on working on their tan as they tuck into some top-notch grub.

The restaurant will also have a take-away counter, serving up fresh smoothies and picnic baskets for diners to enjoy as they spend a day on the beach.

This comes just a week after the huge announcement that fellow Brit and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay announced his new restaurant ‘Bread Street Kitchen’ at Atlantis, The Palm Hotel. Set to open this autumn 2015, Bread Street Kitchen will follow in the steps of its highly successful London counterpart, offering an exciting restaurant and bar space creating an atmosphere-led, high quality dining experience serving a British European menu.
