This week sees the start of the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF), a nine-day extravaganza in which some of Hollywood’s leading lights will pass through the Emirate. One of those is Martin Sheen, the multi-award winning superstar of more than 80 films over five decades.

And you have the chance to enjoy an audience with the legend when DIFF hosts an ‘In Conversation with’ on Sunday December 8 at Souk Madinat Jumeirah. The unmissable event will also include a Q & A opportunity for audience members.

Film fans will get a rare insight into the wonderfully versatile actors career from his breakthrough role in Terrence Malick’s ‘Badlands’, in 1973, to the role that secured him worldwide recognition in Francis Ford Coppola‘s acclaimed film ‘Apocalypse Now’ and to his unforgettable TV character President Jed Bartlet from ‘The West Wing’.

The 73-year-old will also receive a prestigious DIFF Lifetime Achievement Award for his distinguished service to the film industry during the opening ceremony of the 10th edition of the Festival which runs from December 6-14.

The festival is bigger and better than ever this year, showing a total of 174 features, shorts and documentaries including 70 world premieres and 11 international premieres from 57 countries in 43 languages from both established and upcoming talent. Other A-listers set to attend events over the course of nine days are Cate Blanchett, Martin Sheen, Mark Ruffalo and Rooney Mara, among others.

This event is a must-see for any film fan and tickets are available for Dhs30 and Dhs10 for students.
