February 2014 is fast becoming the most exciting month ever for music in Dubai with world’s leading soprano Sarah Brightman joining The Rolling Stones and Santana on the list of superstars jetting in to perform.

The ‘Time To Say Goodbye’ star is set to dazzle fans at Dubai World Trade Centre for two nights as part of new festival Dubai Classics.

The singer, who can be heard often accompanying the world-famous Dubai Mall fountains, has previously topped both the Billboard dance and classical music charts and sold more than 30 million records worldwide.

The 53-year-old, whose career took off following her role in West End musical Cats, is said to have sung in a number of different languages, including English, Spanish, French, Latin, German, Italian, Russian, Mandarin, Chinese and Japanese.

She is best known for her collaboration with legendary Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli on ‘Time To Say Goodbye’ which shifted more than 12 millions copies worldwide.  Other records include Silent Night, Memory, Deliver Me, Harem, Nella Fantasia and Running.

A spokesman for organisers said: “We are thrilled to inaugurate Dubai Classics with such high caliber talent gracing the stage. The appetite for cultural events in Dubai has increased dramatically over the past year. We are witnessing the growing need for diversification within the entertainment sector to appeal to the variety of concert-goers in the UAE. Dubai Classics will act as a platform to bring some of the world’s most powerful voices to the region.”

Brightman’s concerts on February 6 and 7 form part of her Dreamchaser world tour.
