Dubai’s New Year’s Eve has just got a whole lot colder; ice cold in fact. That’s right, iconic 90s rapper Vanilla Ice has been confirmed as the special guest at The N’Dulge Club’s special December 31 party.

The ‘Ice, Ice Baby’ star will rock the house at Atlantis The Palm in what will be one of the most fun parties on the social calendar’s biggest nights.

Famous for breaking the hip hop mould when he reached No 1 in 1989, the white rapper, whose real name is Robert Matthew Van Winkle, is now 46 but retains a cult following around the world. Since his music career trailed off, he has made hay in reality TV and in other ventures.

Tickets for the night at N’Dulge, for which the doors are open from 7pm-4am, are on sale now priced at Dhs300. Let’s hope he doesn’t melt.

Elsewhere at The Atlantis resort, Sandance returns to Nasimi Beach with a stellar line-up including former Swedish House Mafia DJ Axwell, a driving force behind chart hits Don’t You Worry Child, In My Mind and Save the World,Emeli Sande, Paul Oakenfold and Pete Tong.

The hotel have also promised to deliver ‘the greatest show on earth’ with the world’s largest firework display. They claim that the show will more than double the spectacular that partnered its opening back in 2008.

As part of an entire night of celebrations, including the New Year’s Eve Royal Gala Dinner, the pyrotechnics are set to deliver the most astonishing welcome to 2014.
