Live @ Atlantis has pulled off another major signing after announcing that DJ Avicii will take to the turntables on April 4 .

Having only announced last week that legendary spinner Carl Cox would headline a nine-hour spectacular on March 21, the team behind the Atlantis Beach event have added the Swedish superstar to their impressive line-up for the Spring.

Avicii, who was recently voted into number three of DJ Magazine’s Top 100, was behind last year’s smash hits ‘Wake Me Up’ and ‘Hey Brother’. He is also worked closely on remixes with Dizzee Rascal, Robyn and Little Boots.

His early career saw him draw influence from fellow northern European mix kings Steve Angelo (Swedish House Mafia) and Tiesto, the latter of whom invited the Swede to perform a weekly residency at Privilege, Ibiza’s iconic – and largest – super club.

The 24-year-old last played in Dubai in 2012, when his set at Atlantis was feted as one the best ever in the UAE.

Speaking to Time Magazine, he said last year: “I love finding out-of-the-box inspirations and blending them with what I’ve done in the past. And when I started to experiment with genres, it didn’t sound forced. Maybe that’s because it’s all music that I listened to growing up, and it’s all music that I love.”

It’s certainly a gig to look forward to.

Tickets go on sale priced at Dhs250 at atlantisthepalm.com on February 25.
