Fresh from the recent success of MiXTAPE Rewind, Sundance Live, have announced that February’s The Big Grill will take place with legendary reggae band UB40 as the headline act.

The music and food festival, which is part of the inaugural Dubai Food Festival (February 21-March 15), has also confirmed international performers Diana King and No Mercy for the event which takes place on February 28 at the Emirates Golf Club.

Party-goers can expect ‘great entertainment combined with flaming barbecues and tasty steaks like the authentic Indian kebabs, Lebanese mashawis and an array of global tastes’.   

A spokesman said: “We designed The Big Grill to cater to the growing hunger for great food and great music events that are family friendly. We took our time to master the logistics and ensure a certain mood is achieved. The selected artists add to the flavor of what we envision for the event and we hope the public comes out to enjoy what we have planned.”

UB40 are best known for their monster hits of the 1990s, ‘Red, Red Wine’ and ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love’, but do in fact claim to have charted in the UK with more than 50 singles, shifting more 70 million records. They have picked up Grammy nominations (Best Reggae Album on four occasions) and Brit Award nods (Best British Group) since their inception in Birmingham in the late 1970s. Tickets for the event are on sale now, priced at Dhs295. The price includes unlimited open food from the grills.
