Groove On The Grass make a welcome return to Emirates Golf Club on March 14 with Watergate resident Konrad Black and Visionquest force Butch headlining.

It’s the first gig of 2014 for the GOTG team, who have been “scouting some of the most forward-thinking artist line-ups for an amazing season ahead”.

Looking forward to their March 14 return, promoter Deian Markov told our friends at Hype: “Butch is an absolute party animal and has a fantastic sound to fit in our peak-time slot. He brings a lot of character, flavour and personality to his performance and productions and is an all around legend.

“Konrad Black, on the other hand, is a dark horse when it comes to the production world having some very abstract and deep productions with the likes of Azari & III, Art Department, Subb-An, Hearthrob and Troy Pierce. He’s a completely understated superstar in our industry and adds a perfect contrast to Butch’s lighter more groovy side.”

Set up like a boutique festival, get involved in some hands up or heads down action at one of Dubai’s coolest parties.

The last installment of the special night – which has cult following in the UAE – was disappointingly cancelled just 24 hours before it was due to take place after the headline act, Chilean-born and German-raised DJ Ricardo Villalobos, pulled out.

In an open letter on his Facebook page, the underground star absolved the promoters of all blame for the cancellation, writing: “I am so terribly sorry to be forced to cancel my show for the event Cocoon @ Groove on the Grass on December 13 due to an acute illness. My medical advisers have assured me that currently to embark on even short flights constituted risk and that to embark on a long flight such as Berlin to Dubai would almost certainly exacerbate the condition. This is a risk they insist I cannot and should not take.

“I would like to point out that it had been pleasure to work the Theartistnetwork and Cocoon and that this cancellation has nothing whatsoever to do with these companies who have done all they can to deliver the event. This decision is based entirely on my wish not to endanger my health by aggravating symptoms that could prove serious in the long term. Again – I am very sorry and very disappointed about this situation which developed so close to the date of the concert.”
