DIAMOND FACIAL
We all know diamonds are a great addition to any outfit, and it turns out they can do wonders for your skin too. The Viora Pristine Diamond Peel at Rebecca Treston@Euromed Clinic promises smooth, soft skin and a refreshed complexion with zero discomfort. Where most microdermabrasion treatments are carried out using crystal tips, the Viora version uses diamond tips to gently exfoliate the skin and remove dead cells. Customers can choose from a selection of tip varieties depending on their area of concern – from congested and oily skin to age spots.

Rebecca Treston@Euromed Clinic, Villa 611, Jumeirah Beach Road, Jumeirah, Dubai, Dhs350, Sat to Thur 9am to 6pm. Tel: (04) 3945422. Taxi: Near Kite Beach. euromedclinicdubai.com

Balinese massage at Caracalla
You know that scene in The Wizard Of Oz in which the Tin Man gets oiled and feels brand new? That’s a pretty accurate description of how we felt after experiencing the traditional Balinese massage at the Caracalla Spa in Le Royal Méridien.

Jose, our therapist, liberally coated us with oil and then rubbed all the stress away with his considerable elbows and forearms. He used fast, rhythmic strokes that, when we peeled ourselves from the table one hour later, made us feel energised rather than heavy and foggy as some massages can.

After the forearm treatment, Jose used his fingers to hit the pressure points in our shoulders, which felt like our muscles were getting bubbles of air pushed through them. Chills running down our legs seemed like a sign that he knew what he was doing.

Next came a hand massage that eradicated all those thousands of keyboard strokes. Oh, what’s this? A foot massage? OK then. The final stage saw Jose don a pair of warm mitts to get rid of the excess oil. We skipped out of there like we were on a yellow brick road.
