Season three of Fashion Forward has been dealt a blow after star turn Alexa Chung pulled out of appearing just days before the start of the four-day event.

Kicking off on April 10 at Madinat Jumeirah the line up of design talent still trumps last year, though the late withdrawal of style icon Chung will disappoint organisers.

A host of back-to-back catwalk shows will include names such as Essa, Tahir Sultan and The Emperor 1688 while The Garden, a pop up shop housing over 70 accessories designers, also makes a comeback, giving members of the public the opportunity to snap up jewellery, shoes and bags from across the region.

Miss Chung, who is a contributing editor for British Vogue, recently spoke at length about her unique style, which the Daily Mail described as ‘mannish wardrobe choices’.

“It’s a way of power dressing in a way,” said said. “Often if I’m going on a date or if I’m trying to impress someone I’ll get freaked out. I won’t want to dress sexy or in a girly way so I’ll just wear dungarees, that’s my outfit zone. I’ll think if they like me in this that’s fine.”

She was described last year by American Vogue as, “a style bombshell who flattens the best efforts of any American counterpart with the indescribable force of her courageous chic”.

The model and TV presenter split last year from Artic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner.

Fashion bunnies and designers alike won’t want to miss out on the most fashionable four days of the season. For tickets, you must first register at the Fashion Forward website. fashionforward.ae
