What’s On confirms details about Lady Gaga’s performance in Dubai, which will take place on September 10 at Meydan Racecourse, her first in the UAE.

Lady Gaga will perform at Meydan Racecourse on September 10, her first appearance in the UAE, What’s On can reveal.

Rumours were rife last week when a number of respected fan sites reported an announcement was imminent that the wacky musician is preparing to bring her ArtRAVE tour to town.

So we put on our best detective costume and sniffed around and have had all information confirmed by our well-placed sources.

And now, four days later, our story was confirmed by AMI Live, one of three companies involved with bringing the star over.

Speaking at a press conference at the RIRA Gallery in DIFC,  however, CEO Marco Rios said of the artRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball show: ”

There will be some edits for Dubai. It cannot be the full show, because it wouldn’t be allowed. So it’s a special show for Dubai and for the culture.”

Becky Artmonsky, CEO of ATW Live, added: “We’re working very closely with her and her team to ensure all cultural sensitivities are managed very well. It’s her first time here, and she knows she has a lot of Little Monsters here — and some Big Monsters, as well, actually — so that’s the focus for her.”

The five-time Grammy Award winner’s first performance in Dubai is likely to send shockwaves around the town, with Little Monsters from all around the region rushing for a glimpse of the superstar.

The 28-year-old New Yorker’s ArtRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball tour kicked off in Florida earlier this month, treating fans to tracks from her latest album, ARTPOP, which topped the charts in both the UK and the US in November.

Gaga has recently announced a new addition to her family, in the shape of Asia, a black French bulldog which she affectionately calls BATPIG.

In a series of postings on her Instagram, the star wrote beneath of picture of the dog: ”Me and my BATPIG #partBAT #partPIG (sic)”, before later adding, “her name is Asia. She is a BATPIG. I love her I’m her mum.”

Tickets for the Dubai show are priced between Dhs495 (General Admission) and Dhs1,295 (Golden Circle). VIP tables and air-conditioned suites will also be available, starting at Dh2,000. Tickets fo on sale on May 15 on ticketmaster.ae.
