*EDIT: This event will now take place on November 6*

Here’s some great news for anyone who holidayed on Ayia Napa in the early noughties: DJ Luck and MC Neat are coming to Dubai.

Their track A Little Bit of Luck was a massive hit in 2000, back when garage music was storming the UK charts.

The MOBO award-winning duo will play a set at Chinawhite Dubai on October 2 to celebrate the launch of a new urban night, SKANK. They’ll have support from UAE-based DJs Under the Moon and Benni T, and entry is free.

We suggest you dig out your old Pure Garage CDs now to get you in the mood for the event, which comes after Artful Dodger, famous for 1999 anthem Re-Rewind, pulled in a massive crowd at Warehouse Dubai last month. Earlier this year, too, legendary producer and mixologist DJ EZ took to the decks at Level 41.

Elsewhere in nostalgic music news, Zero Gravity announced this week it is flying ‘80s pop icon Kim Wilde in for an acoustic set on October 4.

The Kids in America singer is helping to launch the bar and beach club’s new Drift Saturdays.
