Dubai’s indoor cycling scene is really on a roll with the announcement of Flywheel Dubai’s much-anticipated new studio in Gold & Diamond Park; great news for spin junkies living south of Downtown Dubai.

Located a stone’s throw from the Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Marina, Media City and Barsha, the new facilities promise to be cooler and bigger than the first, including indoor cycling and barre studios run by current and brand new instructors.

Once upon a time, cycling was a mere mode of transport to get you from point A to point B. But since the early 2000s – and the cult following of Flywheel spreading across the US – cycling – in particular, spinning – has become the coolest fitness regime.

The first studios designed solely for spinning incorporated a brilliant new formula: spinning + club-like environment + mind-body-spirit motivational speaking = celebrities such as Jimmy Fallon, Sofia Vergara, Laga Gaga and Lena Dunham declaring their love for all things wheely.

When Flywheel’s first international studio opened in 2012 in Burj Views, Downtown Dubai, that cult following spread to the Middle East with booked out classes days before each session. This NYC-formed company flew into Dubai on a wave of all-American enthusiasm, reviving the workouts of jaded gym-goers. Like spinning but, well, a million times better, FlyWheel’s awesome instructors, passionate team and kick-ass playlists have had the city hooked on the super-competitive bike classes, with rarely an empty saddle in the house.

To celebrate the new opening, Flywheel is offering free sessions on a first come first served basis from 29 to 31 December 2014. To book your spot, visit flywheelsports.com.
