What’s On has details about Arabic artists DJ Said Mrad, Fares Karam, Aryam and Cheb Khaled’s performance at the Formula 1 on November 26.


The line-up of Arabic entertainment for the 2015 Formula 1 Thursday night after-race concert has been revealed.

DJ Said Mrad, famous for his Arabian electronic dance music, Lebanese Dabke singer Fares Karam, Emirati songbird Aryam and Algerian artist Cheb Khaled will all perform on November 26, 2015.

For the third year running, Arabic artists will kick start celebrations for the 2015 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Algerian artist Cheb Khaled helped propel raï music, a type of Algerian folk music, to the global scene with his breakout hit, Didi in 1993. The song topped charts in France, Belgium and Spain.

Other hits of his include Aïcha, which was written by songwriter Jean-Jacques Goldman and has spawned a handful of variations including an Outlandish version, and the French-Arabic song C’est la Vie.

The announcement of acts was made today during the Arabian Travel Market.

“At Yas Marina Circuit we always aim to improve our entertainment and sporting proposition, and 2015 is no exception,” said a spokesman for the venue. “The race weekend is as much about what happens off-track as happens on-track and, this year, our range of motor racing, entertainment, corporate hospitality, and cultural and interactive elements is once again, world class.”

Flash Entertainment, who organise and put on the music revealed today’s news is just the first of many more exciting announcements to be made.
