If your excuse for skipping a workout is “I never have enough time” then you might want try this new exercise session that’s perfect for busy people.

My30Minutes promises a full body burn in just 20 minutes, with 10 minutes for cooling down and getting changed. It uses EMS (Electric Muscle Stimulation) technology to engage more than 90 per cent of your muscle fibres during your workout, as opposed to the 40 per cent engagement you’ll get from a standard gym session.

As you train in the My30Minutes Jumeirah studio (think standard gym moves such as bicep curls, squats and lunges) your body is zapped with the EMS via a special suit, which is fitted with sensor straps and a Batman-like utility vest. The suit is plugged into a machine that sends electrical pulses through your muscles as you work out. The trainer adjusts the intensity, which ranges from a mild tingling to a steady, buzzing, squeezing pressure (a bit like having your blood pressure taken).

While he or she makes the movements look easy, the electric stimulation makes even the simplest movement more challenging. You’ll be feeling the burn within minutes.

My 30 minutes costs Dhs515 per session and Dhs250 for the initial trial session.
