Fitness, food and beauty bases are covered at the new mall in IMPZ near Sports City – which is the sixth City Centre mall in the UAE and 12th in the region.

There are 60 shops in the new mall, but here is our pick of the 10 to check out:

1. Typo

Stationery geeks will be in their element at Typo’s second branch in the city, a store with the coolest folders, glitter pens, and quirkiest décor in town.

6. Leila

leila

This consistently good Lebanese-chain is extremely popular, serving a menu of well-made classics. If it’s a quality shawarma or shish tawook you’re after, you’ll find it here.

City Centre Me’Aisem, off Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, daily 10am to midnight. Tel: (056) 1880046. Next to Sports City.

7. Carrefour

The best thing about this particular supermarket is that it’s still relatively empty, which means no checkout queues, but plenty of products still in store, resulting in significantly lower stress levels than other Carrefour branches.

City Centre Me’Aisem, off Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, Dubai, daily 10am to midnight. Tel: (04) 4374999. Taxi: Next to Sports City.

8. Borders

While Borders isn’t generally as impressive on the literature front as Kinokunya (in Dubai Mall), it is a great one-stop-shop for games, stationery, toys and – of course – the odd book. They always have great 3 for 2 deals on paperbacks too.

City Centre Me’Aisem, off Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, Dubai, daily 10am to midnight. Tel: (04) 454 8803. Taxi: Next to Sports City.

9. Tavola

Colourful, well-designed kitchen and tableware from Europe. In this shop you’ll find everything to the iconic heavy (and weighty on price) Le Creuset cast ironware to quirky and bold Alessi products.

10. Cath Kidston

If you know of Cath Kidston you’ll spot one of their products from a mile away – that’s how iconic and well positioned their brand is. If you love pastel colours and floral prints and covet bags, cushions and good linen, this is basically your dream shop.
