Hold on to the seat of your pants! The Hype area at Vans Party In The Park is gonna blow your socks clean off.

If you don’t know the drill, Vans Party In The Park is the festival run by us. And, like last year, What’s On’s sister mag Hype has a nice big chunk of the festival site to play with – the naughty corner, as they like to call it.

Hype’s gearing up to be very naughty indeed with the best DJs in town representing Dubai’s finest clubs in the treehouse-like Hype Clubhouse, which is also the scene for this year’s intense b-boy battle.

The coolest urban junkies come together in the vibrant Hype Village, where you’ll find the boarders shredding up a skate ramp, Hype’s fabulous Freestyle contributors Sya One and Steffi Bow doing amazing things with spray cans, The Flowground hoola-hoopers getting their wiggle on, while the 7th Delusion lads will make your jaw drop with their impressive illusions.

That’s not to mention the Hype Pop-Up Market, where you’ll find the region’s edgiest artisans selling gorgeous – often handcrafted – creations. Girls, be sure to stop by Glam Bar for some festival make-up or let the SLaM girls give your hair a quick festival twist.

This year we’re also thrilled and delighted to introduce the Hype Secret Roots Garden, hosted by our pals at Levels and Deep Crates Cartel. If you’re a regular reader of Hype, you’ll know that the Deep Crates crew recently built their own sound system – the first in the Middle East – which they’ll be unleashing at PITP.

“Last year’s event was amazing fun” said Hype Editor Lesley Wright, “but this year will be off the scale. It’s a rare occasion to enjoy a feast of underground sounds supplied by the best resident DJs in town – all in the one spot. And the Hype Village will be packed with cool stuff to see and do for those moments when you’re not dancing.”
