What’s On has details about the new acts confirmed for Beats on the Beach, including Swedish pop singer Tove Lo and Carl and the Reda Mafia.


First Taylor Swift and now the world.

Swedish pop singer and most recent #squad member Tove Lo will be performing at the free music festival Volkswagen presents Beats on the Beach on Thursday, November 26 in Abu Dhabi.

The singer-songwriter was the most recent celeb to join Taylor Swift on stage in Atlanta, Georgia where they performed her hit single “Talking Body” together.

The Swedish pop star released her debut album Queen of the Clouds last year, which saw another single, “Stay High (Habits)” peak at number three on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Lo has also penned a number of popular songs, including co-writing Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me like You Do,” as well as Hillary Duff’s “Sparks.”

This will be Tove Lo’s very first performance here in the UAE. Other acts confirmed for Thursday include Filipino rockstar Bamboo and Emirati star Fayez Al Saeed.

Meanwhile local band Carl and the Reda Mafia will perform at Beats on the Beach on Friday, November 27. The four-member band, who were recently selected to support Bon Jovi during his October concert in the capital, will perform alongside Grammy-nominated rapper J.Cole and Lebanese singer Wael Kfoury on the night.

Saturday, November 28 will see the free music festival close with a show from British electronica band Faithless. Other acts scheduled to perform on the night include Yemeni singer Arwa and Arabic hip-hop singer Malikah.
