What’s On has details about the new Star Wars Trailer, and what it may mean for the shot-in-Abu-Dhabi film, which is out on December 18.

Before we say anything, just watch the below.

Okay, still with us?

The over two-minute long, full-length trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released yesterday and already has fans buzzing about what this could mean for the film.

Being released so close to the actual premiere date; this will most likely be the last teaser we get before the film comes out on December 18. So go ahead and watch it again, we’ll wait.

Done? Okay, so aside from the painfully obvious (December 18 is far, far away) we do get more glimpses of Abu Dhabi in this trailer, as the rolling Liwa desert fills the screen, portraying the dry and desolate planet Jakku (and home of Daisy Ridley’s character, Rey). She is seen walking up stretches of dunes with her droid in the opening sequence.

Other epic moments see Finn (John Boyega) preparing for a battle and the menacing Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) speaking to Darth Vader’s ruined helmet and promising to “finish what you started.”

As the film is set decades after the Return of the Jedi, perhaps the most exciting bits (for us, at least) were the new lines Harrison Ford delivers as Han Solo, this time explaining to both Rey and Finn that the stories about what happen are “true, all of it, the dark side, the jedi, they’re real.”

The trailer did leave out one glaring question – the role of Luke Skywalker.

Mark Hamill is a no-show, once again, which means his debut in the film is being kept tightly under wraps. That being said, the second trailer (down below) did have a Skywalker monologue that will just have to tide you over until December.
