An all-woman skydiving team, wingwalkers and Spanish mavericks – the Al Ain Championship is next level

Ten aerobatic teams from eight countries around the world – including military flying aces and civilian daredevils – will square off to impress the judges, win the hearts of fans and be crowned Grand Champion of the skies of Al Ain this weekend at the dazzling Al Ain Championships.

Here are 3 incredible teams to look out for this weekend…

1. The astonishing Breitling wingwalkers

Enduring speeds of up to 150mp/h, the girls demonstrate their strength as they execute gymnastic-like routines during their flight.

2. The Misty Blues All Woman skydiving team

These remarkable woman have been performing for over 25 years. In total they have averaged over 40,000 jumps in their career and hold 35 world records.

3. Spain’s Bravo 3 Repsol

Combining synchronised flights by two aircrafts and insane freestyle manoeuvres, this Spanish ensemble are undoubtedly real life Mavericks of the skies.

Each team’s performance will be graded by four judges, who will award points based on grace, power, national pride and overall wow factor.

The Al Ain Championship takes place from Thursday, December 17 to Saturday December 19. The venue opens between 11am and 9.30pm. Tickets start at Dhs30. You can buy tickets here.
