It might be billed as a footwear festival, but this Dubai event can attract some musical heavyweights…

Sole DXB, the annual sneaker convention, will be returning this November 18 and 19 at Dubai Design District.

However, it’s not just the shoes that people have got to be excited about though, oh no.

The festival has just announced its music line-up, and it includes some acclaimed hip-hop and grime artists.

Wondering who to expect? Here’s a rundown…

Skepta

The London-born grime artist is fresh off the back of his fourth album Konnichiwa, and will be playing his first ever Dubai show at Sole DXB. He won this year’s Mercury Music Prize (previous winners include Dizzee Rascal, PJ Harvey and The xx) is is probably one of the UK’s most exciting artists at the moment.

Little Simz

North London star and rising rapper Little Simz recently won Album Of The Year at the AIM awards, and has been listed as the first UK rapper to appear in both Forbes‘ 30 Under 30 and Hip Hop Cash Princes lists. Definitely one to watch.

BJ The Chicago Kid

The singer-songwriter from – no surprises here – Chicago has worked with several prominent rappers including Freddie Gibbs, Warren G, Big K.R.I.T., GLC and someone you might have heard of -Kanye West.
