Want to get outdoors, work on your fitness and have fun? Well these three events this month celebrate the best of Dubai’s health and wellbeing scene…

1. Dubai Tri Fest

Dubai continues to go triathlon crazy. This month sees the city’s largest triathlon weekend, which will take place at a brand new venue in Jebel Ali. On Friday, you can take place in the shorter distance duathlon and triathlon races, which are open to all ages from four years old and upwards. Then on Saturday, the hardcore athletes will take on the Dubai International Triathlon, a half Iron Man distance that includes a 1.9km swim, 90km bike ride and a 21.1km run (ouch). There are prizes up for grabs in every category.

Why you need to go

The city’s triathlon community continues to go from strength to strength, and the Dubai Triathlon Festival is a great way to get involved. Even if you’re not sporty, there are short distance races that are good for beginners, plus plenty of entertainment on offer and, as Tri Fest race director Paul Venn notes, it’s a wonderfully family friendly event. “The whole format is geared towards families racing together so Mums and Dads can race then watch their kids. We also have events with kids as young as four running alongside their parents,” he said.
