The roads around DXB will be a touch jammed this weekend. Here are the details…

Here’s a heads up: anyone travelling to Dubai International Airports on Friday should allow a little extra time to get to the terminal.

Why? Well, because of roadworks.

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority is currently working on the roads at the junction of Marrakech Street and Airport Road, and so from 2am tonight (or tomorrow morning) until 1pm on Friday afternoon, there will be some disruptions to traffic.

Where will the disruptions be? Well, access to the Terminal 3 staging lane will be affected, as will the roads around the EK Group Headquarters.

But the main disruptions will be heading east and west on Airport Road (which is where the red pin is, just to give you context):

On Saturday, it will be business as usual on the roads.

While tomorrow’s traffic is a temporary hassle, the road works are all about improving traffic flow around the airport (so long term, they’re a good thing).
