The family-friendly festival honouring HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak is back in the capital.

Being hosted on the Corniche until April 4, the Mother of the Nation Festival will feature everything from a Pokémon Symphony to a digital fireworks display from Pixel Pyros, free fitness classes, art workshops and more.

Here are five things you can’t miss when you visit:

1. Happiness Zone

Kids can try out a climbing wall, a 35 metre zip line or bag jump that will see you free fall from either a height of six or nine metres at this area. Guests can also make and fly kites on the beach or take a tour of the space on four wheels.

2. Souq Zone

Designed to look like the old port markets of before, this shopping zone will feature over 70 local Emirati and international vendors selling handmade products (think crafts, beauty products, jewellery and clothing) in pop-up stalls.

3. Beach Dining Zone

Refuel with a range of food trucks, kiosks and containers at this dining zone. Vendors participating include Keki bakery, Burger House, Barbacoa, Tawa Bakery, Rice Creamery, and No 57 Boutique Café.

4. Progress Zone

This instagram-approved area has everything from LED light displays, state-of-the-art telescopes to look at stars, art installations and even fitness classes.

5. MOTN Pavilion

Learn more about the woman who inspired the festival at this section of the festival. There’ll be an exhibition highlighting HH Sheikha Fatima, the wife of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, as well as other strong Emirati women.
