Get ready to line up in exactly two weeks…

Following on from last week’s announcement that they will be opening a third retail outlet in the UAE at Dubai Mall, Apple have revealed that the store will open its doors on Thursday 27 April at 4:00pm.

Little is known if anything special is planned for the opening, however if it’s anything like the previous ones at Mall of the Emirates and Yas Mall, we can expect long queues of eager Apple fans lining to be the first to step foot in what is expected a massive two-storey retail space.

So, what’s this new Apple store all about?

‘Creativity. Connected.’ is the concept behind the UAE’s third Apple store set to open its doors in Dubai Mall.

A hoarding has been erected across two floors of the country’s largest shopping mall depicting an artful mural that incorporates elements of the local creative community, from start-ups and local app developers, to art galleries and food trucks.

Local business spotlighted in the mural include Satwa eatery The Sum of Us and the Empty Quarter Gallery.

Apple has yet to release any specific measurements regarding the store’s size which will be located right in the center of Dubai Mall. However, judging by the fact it takes up two whole floors of the mall, this may wind up being the largest of country’s three Apple store.

The other two official Apple stores opened in October 2015 and are located in Mall of the Emirates and Yas Mall.

What can we expect once the store opens?

Aside from being yet another destination where eager shoppers can purchase Apple’s range of electronic devices such as the iPhone and Macbook, the store will also host workshops and offer support via the Genius Bar.

This last one is particularly of note as customers have complained in the past of over two-week waiting lists when attempting to book appointments to service their various Apple devices. A new store will hopefully mean more support staff and lead to shorter waiting times.
