The airline cites ‘decreased demand’ as the primary reason…

It seems that we haven’t seen the last of the recent travel and laptop ban fiasco that made big news last month following a change in travel policies set by US president Donald Trump.

Emirates Airline released a statement yesterday announcing that it would be scaling back its flights to the United States effective May 1 due to ‘decreased demand’ from its customers.

The statement detailed a reduction in five flights to the continental United States and went on to say that the changes were brought about as a direct result of security procedures, visa policy and restrictions on certain electronic devices in aircraft cabins.

So, which flights are affected?

The changes to US flights will begin to roll out over a period of several months starting with a reduction in services to Fort Lauderdale from May 1.

Flights to Orlando will be reduced down to five days a week from seven effective May 23.

Seattle will see its twice-daily flights cut down to one from June 1.

This will follow on June 2 with Boston being reduced down to one flight per day instead of its current twice-daily schedule.

Los Angles flights will similarly follow suit, dropping down to daily flights effective on July 1.
