Time to crank up the barbecue…

Temperatures in Dubai have been rising dramatically this month (remember how it got super close to 40 degrees Celsius the other week?), but forecasters are predicting a welcome dip just in time for the long weekend.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) expects things will cool off from Thursday to Saturday, before heating up again from Sunday to Monday.

Coastal and internal areas of the UAE should see highs in the early to mid-30s – which, let’s face it, we can definitely handle after the past couple of weeks.

Here’s the forecast for Dubai from Weather.com:

So definitely plan your barbecues, picnics and strolls for Friday and Saturday (or you can check out our bumper edition of What’s On Weekend for more ideas), and perhaps save your Netflix-and-chill-in-air-conditioning day for Sunday.

You might want to cancel that long weekend boat trip though, or at least check in with operators on the-morning-of: the NCMS is also forecasting fresh to strong northwesterly winds, and rough to very rough seas in the Arabian Gulf, with waves up to 10 feet high.

Heading off on a road trip? Be careful out there, as there may also be poor visibility in some areas due to sand and dust storms.
