The Ramadan spirit of giving is in full swing

As part of the annual Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) treated a group of 100 orphans to a mall shopping trip.

The RTA shared a video of the excusrion on social media

Held in cooperation with both the Rawafid Centre for Development and Education and charity organisation Red Crescent, 30 employees from the RTA Women’s Committee volunteered to help accompany the children to pick out new clothes in time for Eid Al Fitr celebrations next week.

Ramadan coupons were also handed out to over 500 low-income families living in Oud Mateena, Satwa, Hor Al Anz/East and Muhaisna.

Entitled ‘Eid Joy’ the initiative is designed to fall in line with the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s views of offering relief to needy and disadvantaged members of the community.

Speaking about the charitable act, Moaza Al Marri, RTA director of marketing and corporate communications and chairperson of the Women’s  Committee noted: “We view Zayed Humanitarian Work Day as an exclusive charitable platform, especially as it coincides with The Year of Giving 2017 initiative declared by His Highness the President of the UAE.”
