They’ll be performing their hit album ‘Moseley Shoals’ in its entirety

Fans of 90s Britpop take note, Birmingham band Ocean Colour Scene are set to hit the Irish Village on Thursday 9 November and they’ll be performing their classic album ‘Moseley Shoals’ in its entirety.

The Brummie boys are one of the few remaining active bands (albeit having had a few lineup changes) from that period, outlasting contemporaries Oasis, The Verve and Supergrass.

Best known for their hit tunes ‘The Riverboat Song’ and ‘The Day We Caught The Train’, the band hold the distinction of being the ones who knocked Oasis’ ‘What’s The Story Morning Glory’ album off its record-breaking run at the top of the UK charts.

They’ve garnered plenty of accolades on their own merit too, including five UK top 10 selling albums, seventeen UK top 40 singles and multiple world tours since their humble beginnings back in 1989.

Tickets are Dhs165 and available now from The Irish Village, Platinum List, Virgin Megastores, and 800tickets.

Here are a few of our favourite classic OCS number to get you in the mood for the weekend:

This folky anthem is sure to inspire some hearty sing-alongs on the night

The band’s breakthrough hit ‘The Riverboat Song’ from way back in 1996 is still one of their best

Slower jam ‘The Circle’ still cracked the UK top 10 and has a cool video filmed around Birmingham
