Leave the kids to learn about the wonders of the universe while you go grocery shopping

Planning a trip to the mall and don’t want to leave the kids glued to a screen watching something that will rot their brain? We might have a solution.

Oasis Mall is giving parents an educational alternative with the launch of their new Planetarium designed specifically to teach your tykes about the universe.

Located on the ground floor atrium of one the popular mid-market shopping centre, the temporary exhibit will run until 26 August screening a selection of short movies about space, including a film on the Emirates Mars Mission.

Aimed at kids aged five to 17, the educational show lasts approximately 20 minutes with tickets costing a “nominal” amount.

Parents might also be interested to note that if they spend a minimum of Dhs200 on tickets and back-to-school merchandise within the mall, they’ll be entered into a draw to win one of 10 scholarships worth Dhs25,000. Not too shabby.

The planetarium is open from 3pm to 9pm on weekdays and from 10am till noon and 3pm to 11pm on weekends.
