No injuries were reported.

A fire broke out at an under-construction shopping mall in Dubai’s Jumeirah district on Sunday evening.

Smoke could be seen rising over Jumeirah Beach Road after the blaze was reported at 5.25pm.

According to Dubai Media Office, firefighting teams from three stations were sent to contain the fire and ensure it did not spread to neighbouring buildings.

Jumeirah Street was partially cordoned off and Urouba Street was closed while Dubai Civil Defence battled the blaze. The streets have since re-opened.

Dubai Media Office said firefighting teams “moved swiftly and skillfully to contain the fire”, and no injuries were reported.

Dubai has been hit by a string of fires this month; including the blaze that erupted at the 86-storey Torch Tower in Dubai Marina, followed by a small fire at Tiger Tower across the road.

No injuries were reported in either incident.
